A 100 per cent team for unity E-mail

The MCA greater Unity Plan (GUP), which was endorsed by the Central Committee yesterday, now needs to be realised and implement swiftly. With this, I need a team that is 100 per cent behind the effort to bring back unity to the MCA in time for the next general election.

To achieve this, I had reshuffled some positions in the Party and had included leaders with the right skill sets, experience and vision into rolling out the GUP, which had received two-thirds support from the CC. We can ill-afford to have leaders who are against the GUP – much less, those out to derail a Plan which had received the blessings of the Prime Minister – to be in the MCA Presidential Council.

Under Article 47 of the MCA constitution, the Party Presidential Council (PC) is the administrative body delegated with the authority to carry out decisions made by the CC. The Presidential Council, as the name suggests, is the body the president entrusts to implement decisions made by the MCA CC and general assembly.

The implementation of the GUP is one example. The GUP was endorsed in a democratic fashion by the CC yesterday and now is the time for the PC, as the implementing body, to deliver. This is a fundamental principle practiced by successful managers the world over.

In any case, it is untrue to say that the MCA Youth and Wanita wings have been snubbed in the PC. In fact, both of them can still sit in to air their views as invited members of the PC.

In times like this, it is important that all Party leaders set aside their differences for the sake of unity. The MCA cannot afford to lose any more time to win back support of the public in time for the next general election.

This is why I can work with Dato’ Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek despite our past differences. In this respect, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate his appointment as the new Johor MCA State liaison committee chairman.

WISE MOVE: WHAT NEXT FOR THE RAKYAT?
written by pc t, November 19, 2009
Hi PRESIDENT ONG,
WISE AND SWIFT DECISIVE MOVE ON THE HOUSE CLEANING EFFORT. THE CHANGES YOU MANDATED NEED TOTAL UNITY AND LOYALTY TEAM PLAYERS COMMITMENT FROM MCA AS THERE ARE TOO MANY TENTACLES WITH VESTED INTERESTS PROWLING AROUND.
AFTER ALL THE STORMS OF THE LAST FEW MONTHS..FINALLY THE RECKONING THAT WE ARE ALL WAITING FOR: LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE INDICATORS.THIS NEAR FATAL CHALLENGE TO TOPPLE YOU IS A GREAT BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE....IT MAKES YOU HOPEFULLY MORE CAUTIOUS ALERT AND WISER AND STRONGER IN THE MANGEMENT OF YOUR OWN TEAM.THE UNRELENTING UNWAVERING SUPPORTS OF THE PEOPLE IS PROOF THAT MALAYSIANS ARE POLITICALLY DISCERNING LOTS AND NO LONGER GULLIBLE HANDS OFF PARTICIPANTS OF OUR POLITICAL WELL BEING.PLEASE BE A STRONG AND WISE LEADER OF POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES AS MALAYSIA IS IN HUNGER OF SUCH LEADERSHIP QUALITIES.PREVIOUS MCA AND GERAKAN LEADERS SINCE MAHATHIR ERAS SEEM MORE SELF SERVING FOLLOWERS. OVERALL THE CURRENT BREED OF POLITICIANS ON THE CORRIDORS OF POWER LACK FORTITUDE AND STRONG LEADERSHIP QUALITIES. THE VERY ESSENCE THAT GARNER YOU SUCH STRONG SUPPORT IN TIMES OF SUCH DIRE NEED IS YOUR UNRELENTING CONVICTIONS TO UNRAVEL THE WHOLE TRUTH BEHIND THE P.KLANG SCANDAL. PLEASE DO NOT BE SIDETRACKED INTO SILENT MODE DUE TO POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHT PRESSURES AS THE RAKYAT IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE.YOU WIN BECOZ THE RAKYAT WANTS THE TRUTH. IF YOU ARE COWED INTO SILENCE...WHERE IS THE RELEVANCE OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTABIILITY AND THE CHANGE YOU MANDATED AND STAND FOR!BE A CREDIBLE LEADER AND PUSH FORWARD FOR PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC FUND AND NOTHING LESS THAN THE TRUTH SHALL SUFFICE.ANY RETREAT ON YOUR PART SHALL BE A GREAT TOOL FOR THE OPPOSITION TO MOVE CLOSER TO FORMING THE NEXT GOVERNMENT.
AS A RAKYAT I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST CSL. NO HUMAN BEINGS ARE PERFECT BUT TO BE RESPECTED IS ANOTHER MATTER.HOWEVER ITS IMPORTANT THAT MR PRESIDENT YOU DO NOT SELL YOUR SOUL AND CONVICTIONS FOR WHAT YOU STAND FOR.
I LAUD YOUR POLITICAL MOVES THUS FAR AND LOOK FORWARD TO A LEADER WE MALAYSIANS AND THE CHINESE IN PARTICULAR COULD BE PROUD OF AND QUOTED AS A GREAT LEADER OF MALAYSIA.

I admire your boldness in highlighting the PKFTZ scandal. Being a responsible Malaysian, I strongly support initiative to reject corruptions. However, I am sadden by the way you sidelined Datuk Chua S.L., who is officially chosen by MCA delegates. Why am I highlighting this when you have officially reconciled with him? Because this is the root cause of the current MCA crisis.
Any how I wish to Congratulate you & your team for winning the battle & the party positions. However, I do not think you & your team will be able to win the vote of Chinese. I believe many other Chinese who are not MCA members will agree with me. I do not think your GUP will be able to win back the vote of the Chinese in the next general election. It is totally repulsive to see how you maneuver to regain back your position & sideline the rest to have 100% backing. Probably, a person need to be dirty in order to survive in politic, an art to be learnt by the "Green Horn", but the person will not gain the respect from the community. Save the party before it is too late.

THINKING OUT OF THE BOX
written by Ken GK 5S, November 20, 2009
Dear Mr. President,
It is a good thing that the CC is supporting you and I hope you would succeed in your quest for unity in MCA. I wish the BN/UMNO would lay-off their hands and stop meddling in the affairs of the MCA (this is the 4th force).

As an individual and a layman on the streets, I do not like BN especially the corrupted UMNO. If MCA is aligned to BN, the consequences would be very bad. I believe the next general elections would be a total wipe-out for the BN. We could see a few components of BN are already dead by now. MCA is just next to MIC in the death sentence.

Think wisely if MCA wants to survive and be relevant to society in the next general elections .
The CC & you have to think OUT OF THE BOX. smilies/wink.gifsmilies/smiley.gif
PKFZ ONG
written by Bobo Socrates, November 20, 2009
The PM must be careful in coming into MCA. The Rakyat may not be happy.

The Rakyat seem to be happy with Ong Tee Keat because of his action in PKFZ.

The mental association of Ong Tee Keat and PKFZ is now strong. It would not be a surprise if the Rakyat were to mentally identify Ong Tee Keat as "PKFZ ONG".

Therefore, any attack on PKFZ ONG would be interpreted as a punishment of PKFZ ONG because he is PKFZ ONG.

The Rakyat may not be happy.
Courage to Change
written by ching, November 20, 2009
Dear Tee Kiat,

Now is the time! Show your true "Courage to Change" now! Change MCA into a multi-racial party now! No more communal politics. No more a follower of UMNO's communal politics. As long as BN plays communal politics, the minority races are always the losers. The Chinese are set to be loser if they stick to communal approach. This is true "Courage to Change"! Die or survive, let your name be recorded in Malaysian history as a political reformist. What say you?

Hope for Malaysia
RUMBLES FROM THE GROUND: POLITICAL SUICIDE TO HAVE OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE
written by pc t, November 20, 2009
MR PRESIDENT,
PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT SEPARATION OF POWERS MEANS A VITAL RESPECT FOR AUTONOMOUS ENTITY WITHIN WHICH THE ORGANISATION COULD INDEPENDANTLY ACTIVATE ITSELF WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR. AS A POLITICAL FRONT, UMNO HAS ITS OWN AUTONOMOUS SET UP GEARING TOWARDS SUCH EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIP.MCA HAD IN THE PAST BEEN SUBJECTED TO SUCH "APPROVAL REQUIREMENT" FROM ANOTHER COMPONENT PARTY AND THE EFFECT HAD SHOWN NEGATIVITY RATHER THAN POSITIVE OUTCOME. THERE IS NO POINT FOR MCA TO EXIST IF MCA CANNOT INDEPENDANTLY MANAGE ITSELF WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF ANOTHER COMPONENT ENTITY WITH VESTED INTERESTS OF ITS OWN.IF UMNO IS A PLULARISTIC ENTITY CATERING FOR ALL MALAYSIANS WITH NO RACE BASED CONSIDERATION, SUCH CONCERN SHALL BE NEGATED. THE REALITY OF THE MATTER IS, UMNO IS RACE BASED AND IN SUCH SITUATION TO INTERFERE/ EVEN HAVE A SAY ON ANOTHER RACE BASED COMPONENT ENTITY DENOTES AND CAN BE CONTRUED AS "CONTROL" OVER ANOTHER COMPONENT PARTY. UMNO HAS NOT PROVEN ITSELF TO BE AN IMPARTIAL TAI KOH IN THE PAST AND THAT MAKES UMNO PERSONA NON GRATA IN ANY MEDITATIVE ROLE. IT IS WITHOUT ANY POLITICAL DOUBT WHATSOEVER THAT ANY ATTEMPT BY UMNO TO BE THE MIDDLE PARTY SHALL NOT BE WELCOMED BY THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.
I HOPE THAT MR PRESIDENT, IT YOUR ZEST TO CONFORM, YOU DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE LIKE YOUR PREDECESSORS.MALAYSIA IS IN DIRE NEEDS OF INDEPENDANT WISE STRONG VOICE IN THE WAY MALAYSIA IS GOVERNED AND THE EROSION OF INDEPENDANT COHESIVE ACTIVATIONS FOR A BETTER MALAYSIA IN THE CURRENT POLITICAL SET UP IS A MAJOR CAUSE FOR CONCERN. PLEASE BE CAUTION AGAINST ANY BUTTING IN BY UMNO OR ANY OTHER COMPONENT PARTY FOR THAT MATTER.
STRONG BELIEVER OF SEPARATION OF POWERS
IS MCA FACING A REAL SERIOUS LEADERSHIP PROBLEM?
written by ASWENG, November 20, 2009
VERDICT: MCA does not face a serious leadership problem which some newspapers have tried to paint. The 10 CCMs led by LTL have been making noises at every given opportunities. Spreading rumours, twisting facts, scheming traps and to a certain extent intimidating other CCMs to support their heinous self vested interest to take control of the party. The majority of the CCMs are united behind the president and his deputy.

SOLUTIONS

1. GUP being inclusive in nature, appointees should write in to state their stance pertaining to their
appointments. State reasons if they refuse the appointments.
2. The appointments pertaining to the GUP’s committee are still effective and members must show their sincerity
and commitment to attend meetings when called.
3. Take firm action against those who have persistently breached the party discipline. Official letter must be
issued and replied accordingly. Action to be taken must be in accordance to the party constitution taking
into consideration the seriousness of the offence. ( 1. Recorded firm verbal warning. 2. Recorded firm
written warning. 3. Suspension. 4. Sacking )
4. The Party Constitution must be strictly observed.
5. Amend certain Articles in the Constitution which appear to be ambiguous.
6. Refer the 2 resolutions in the 2nd EGM to the ROS to ascertain its legality
although MCA have already sought two very renowned lawyers for their opinions
and have been proven to be unconstitutional.
7. LTL must call off the illegal 2nd EGM as the CC meeting has already decided that
the EGM is unconstitutional. Otherwise he is breaching the party constitution.
8. In no uncertain terms that LTL, WKSand CMF must be told that the minority
have to toe the line of any decisions made during the CC meetings.
9. Instill the culture to respect the hierarchical set up of the party.
10. Lastly, the Prime Minister being the Barisan Chairman and has already accepted
GUP must tell LTL, WKS and CMF to embrace the plan.

Be firm and decisive, I am very sure with OTK and CSL at the helms of the party and the cooperation of every CCMs MCA will be able to find peace to unite, heal and most importantly serve the nation with fear or favour.
Is it true that MCA can not handle their conflict as PM say
written by Liew Fook Hung, November 20, 2009
I sincerely want to send the message to our honorable President Ong Tee Kiat, please be very careful and precaution to handle the incoming interference from PM who just simply put in he conclusion that we MCA are making the internal conflict worse, and public is losing confidence on us which is not true.It will make all the obedience MCA member carry the shame that we have lost our authority right to manage our party affairs.
