Yesterday, several MCA Central Committee members had said that they were not consulted about the "greater unity plan" which was announced last week. The plan was designed to end the impasse in the Party, bring unity back and put MCA on track to winning back support from the people in time for the next general election. The plan had been presented to the Prime Minister, who had given his blessings.

I find it perplexing why I need the CC's permission when I try to bring about unity to the Party. Do these people hope to see the Party being dragged down by continuous in-fighting, just so they can achieve their selfish ambitions?  Do they understand the importance of putting the greater unity plan to work so that MCA can continue with its healing and reforms following the setbacks during last year's general election? Are they not prepared to set aside their self interest for the sake of MCA and the nation?

I have also been asked about the personal pledge I made before the October 10 EGM. I have clarified the issue on many occasions. It would be unwise to make me reveal certain things that will deeply embarrass a few Party leaders.

During the October 15 MCA Central Committee meeting, someone said that I control almost 50 per cent of the delegates while Dato' Sri Dr Chua Soi Lek has the backing of about 47 per cent. Her statement has made me realise that me and Dr Chua should come together and unite the Party, as collectively we control almost 100 per cent of the general assembly. Why should anyone question the greater unity plan?

MCA has unfinished business and the Port Klang Free Zone debacle is just one of them. We have reached the final lap in our efforts to get to the bottom of the PKFZ problem. Now is the time to move ahead, and not be held back by petty and divisive bickering.

Let's Move On
written by choyyk, October 28, 2009
I can't agree more with Dato' Seri Ong that MCA should move on to focus more on how best to serve the people and let petty party squables and power struggles be a thing of the past. Although it is easier said than done, at least the leaders should show sincerity in trying their level best to realise that goal.

Although MCA is a Chinese based party I sincerely hope that it should strive to fight for a better life for all Malaysians irrespective of race and I hope that one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) there will be no more raced based political parties.Only then we can proudly say we are 1Malaysia.

Let's move on to greater things.

Hiya Datuk Ong, these cc members (those in the press conference yesterday regarding your peace plan according to malaysiakini) are just a bunch of trouble makers; they are trying to create confusion to the public. Luckily most Malaysians are more intelligent than that. You have to agree that most of us are indeed aware of and understand well the games that these cc members are playing.

With regards to your personal pledge that you made before the 10 October EGM, I think you have made the right decision in staying on. At least you have made the right choice by letting your ego go and placing the public’s interests as the first priority. I salute your courage and wisdom. I can assure you that you will never regret of your choice. In a few years time when you look back, you will think that you are lucky that you have stayed and have try your very best to benefit the Chinese ethnicity group; many people will remember you for this.

Dear Datuk Seri

This is the way to go. If the two mickey mouse and one minnie mouse do not come to their senses, relieve them of their cabinet posts. There are others more qualified and suitable candidates in MCA. These three mices spent most of their time politicking rather than working for the rakyat. I you do this, they will back down and MCA will be at peace.
Don't be swayed by a bunch of traitors

Datuk Seri OTK,

I thank you for staying on as the MCA President. I have high hopes on you on the MCA reform plan and the PKFZ issue. I wish you would waste no time to continue your efforts on these two things. Your decision to call for the peace truce with Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek is a wise decision. You both are good and efficient leaders despite there are some difference in moral perceptions. You both need to put those differences aside and prioritize the welfare of Chinese communities and the unity of the party. I truly believe you both can achieve something great together. Please do not be swayed by the bunch of depicable traitors, they have personal agendas and hidden motives. They are seeking political shortcut to attain their personal interest. They do not care about the MCA unity and Chinese community welfare. What they care is when are you going to step down and give ways for them to be promoted. Imagine if these bunch of people going to lead MCA in the future, it would almost guarantee MCA to totally lose (like Gerakan Party in the last General Election) in the future General Election. Datuk Seri, please don't bet the future of MCA on the hands of these bunch of traitors! They can sell you out, they can sell the party out and sell the Chinese community out one day! By then, it will be too late to know...
You done the right thing

Dear Datuk Ong,

So you have done the right things now. So to carry out the decision correctly is the next step in the reforming and for those trouble makers as you know by now, i think just have to find a time to eliminate them during the right time and put MCA stay united as 1 party and 1 leader.
Time to move on

CC

I opine that the CC has to be dealt with swiftly and effectively to prevent same issues from being raised repeatedly by certain members.

The statement by certain members (of CC) are certainly not contributing to the greater unity plan as espoused by the PM and agreed to by you and Soi Lek.

Now the deputy PM has commented that “It is only proper that leaders at all levels know what the plan entails. I too want to know as a member of Barisan Nasional. Maybe we can help. It would be good if the plan was made transparent to their members and not that only some leaders know about it.

Have a joint statement with CSL on the plan. I am sure that you and the party will get the support of the grassroots.

Liow TL
written by IG5, October 28, 2009
i do not believe Liow TL's time to lead MCA has arrived. it is amazingly immature for him to abandon his former leader (and benefactor), and amazingly unconvincing his denial of attempting to topple Ong TK while obviously doing it. i sincerely hope the media has portrayed him wrongly.

i would not vote for MCA in my locality in the next GE. but i would vote for Ong TK if i am in Pandan. i do not want BN to form the next government. but i rather Ong TK leads MCA and Chua SL adheres to the unity plan. i would think Chua SL would redeem himself very well despite everything that has happened so far if he shows sincerity on the unity plan. the MSM and some internet portals in town may comment adversely on Ong TK, but they seem to have agenda supported by some people with big money, not by the the people out there in the streets.
move on Datuk Seri Ong

Anyone with a normal IQ would know the motive behind the press conference of the 14 CC lead by LTL.
They are worry of their present position in the party and cabinet. They don't bother about the unity of the party.
Exercise your prerogative and authority under the party constitution, do whatever you think is best for the unity of the party.
