I respect the decision made by the central delegates at the MCA EGM yesterday. The results have sent certain messages which I could see are now being interpreted in the press by different parties in many ways.

I have also received many feedback, appeals and advice, which I truly appreciate. The Central Committee will discuss all avenues and angles regarding the results and the immediate future of the party.

I take full responsibility for the outcome of the EGM and will act in the best interests of the Party after consultation with my colleagues and supporters and the deliberations of the next Central Committee meeting.

To YB Datuk Seri Ong,
The whole of chinese community is looking at your utmost outstanding performance now.
Never give up now, no doubt you are facing lots of criticism or racist comments against you.
You are not alone facing all this. We, the chinese community will stand by you over your struggle in the party as a unity, principles & courage man to fight against wrongdoings.
You have done what the chinese community wanted to do so far.

If you really resign means we as the chinese community kow-tow to those who are the real sluts out there.
In PKFZ, we believe what Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat had transpired is all for the benefit of all peoples in Malaysia.
Not only that, Datuk Seri, the whole world is also watching at you.
You have all our chinese comrades pride and we are proud as we have someone like ONG TEE KEAT to fight against any uncover corruptions, reveal the real face of a slut Chua Soi Lek and his nasty group AND most importantly, we believed...ONG TEE KEAT is not a yes-man to UMNO who performed so well now.
Time will reveal everything.

Again, I do NOT wish to hear or get to know Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat resigned from whatever position.
Not even a single position.
Remember, we are all behind you towards your struggle in the party as well as the ministry in transport.

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU !

Datuk, please don't give up yet, the Chinese community needs someone with high integrity, resourceful and enthusiasm to lead them.The Chinese community respects the decision of the central delegates with deep regrets. However a man of high integrity has been be sacrificed for the sake of maintaining the stability of the party. This express into foregoing righteousness, justice and fairness, what a pity indeed!

We hope you will stand firm and remain active in politics and continue to serve the community and the nation in whatever possible way.

If you are a responsible leader you must not resign. You are not answerable to 2,000 over delegates but to the whole Chinese community. If you resign now MCA will be in chaos. Look at what is happening now. Even Before you give your decision everyone now start clamouring for the top post. Be responsible and don't resign. Don't care what the PM says.Settle your problems first.

The way i feel, the EGM was not about Ong Tee Keat vs Chua Soi Lek, it was Ong Tee Keat vs A lot of frightened individuals whose reputations and positions could be threatened by the exposure misdeeds, Chua was just a small pawn in their chess game. I am honest to admit that i am not a supporter of MCA or BN, but i have always held you in high esteem because your style which is dare to voice out and not bow down to anyone. I thought i have seen a glimmer of hope of MCA in reinventing itself for the community in this country when you were elected as president, but the water is maybe too muddy to tread. I hope you will not give up and continue to fight on to save this community, this country from its current misery state.

Thank you.

Who else will be as outspoken and as righteous as you in MCA? Please stay on so that no one else would have the chance to cover up the PKNZ scandal, etc., etc., etc..

Respect party constitution
written by Loh Meng Kow, October 13, 2009
CSL supporters said that it needed a two third majority to sack an incumbent Deputy President, according to the constitution of MCA. So CSL has not been sacked, even though the majority of the people considered him not fit to retain the position of Deputy President.

Since the MCA party constitution provides that a two third majority is needed to dislodge an incumbent and the constitution has to be respected, the EGM had not returned a two-third majority to remove OTK as President.

CSL maintained that he remains a suspended Deputy President unless he resigns. The EGM overturned his suspension as members but did not agree to his returning as Deputy President. It is thus a matter for dispute as to the period of his suspension as Deputy President. If the rejection of CSL in the EGM could not stop CSL becoming Deputy, how then can it stop OTK to remain Presiedent?

OTK expressed his intention to resign, before the EGM, under certain circumstances. That was a hypothetical promise on a hypothetical outcome. It has been said that an agreement becomes one when it was singed on paper. The question is whether the President of a party should be guided by the constitution or by the personal preference. Had the party constitution been silence on the condition under which the EGM could remove the President, convention should take place. Indeed, USA conducts poll, accurate one too, on the confidence people have on their President. They serve out their term even though their support fell to the teens.

UMNO leaders are happy that CSL had been able to cause havoc in the party. Mahathir wanted Najib to interfere. So they are just waiting to see OTK go, for their agenda. BN components are adversaries in fact, but pretend to be partners on the surface. They like weaklings in MCA so that it can be manipulated.

The EGM was another way of gauging the preference the central committee members have between OTK and CSL. Though they were not standing election on the same position, the results could be interpreted as though they compete for acceptance by the party. Thus the results might have to be interpreted by the overall decision of the meeting rather than on the score of the individual questions.

On the choice of between OTK and CSL, which could be interpreted from the persons who voted for OTK and CSL in the two different questions, the score was 1141 over 1110. If the votes were taken as the presidential election, then OTK won with a majority of 31 votes. People such as the has-been AAB of incompetence fame, and MCA past beneficiaries clamor for a new election. Since the MCA party regulations do not forbid OTK to stand again even if he had resigned, and if he should stand against CSL who has shown all the ambition despite his infamous records, the same members attending would have returned the votes with OTK winning by a razor thin margin. A win is a win.

If the central committee decides that they choose to please non MCA power brokers and go for a new election, then OTK should stand for the position of President again. The members voted on OTK’s position with regards to his demand for an untainted personality in party position. If the party has to split just for electing a proper person to be President, then it is better to have a lean and clean party than a bloated one with corrupted personalities. MCA should stop to be vehicles for certain personalities to gain wealth standing on the ruins of Chinese community.

The officials are elected for a fixed term, and they should serve out according to the provision of the party constitution. OTK does not have to resign base on the provision of the constitution. Personal pride might open the way for the wrong persons to cause havoc to the party. Convention on confidence vote does not apply because of specific provision in the constitution. If UMNO tries to be funny, maybe it is time to take MCA out.

Don't be Distraughted by Slight Loss in Faith in You
written by petyew, October 13, 2009
Dear Datuk Seri Ong,

A true leader is not swayed by public opinion by by faith in his mission. I have high regards in your work to restore integrity in government and Chinese community. In moments like this when you feel down and alone, remember the thousands of non-political supporters you have (yours truly included) are urging you to stand firm and not be discouraged. Do not resign. You only 'lost' by 14 votes and some of those who voted against you were probably swayed by their friends to do so. Stay on and be 'thick skin' because you do not live for popular support but for the work you have been called to finish.

Dear datuk,

Just too add some of my observation down the streets. Esp. to most of the MCA rep's !~
Do you all knows tht down on the street what have most of the chinese label MCA as?!~
Not as YB LIM GUAN ENG label MCA as a MAU CARI ANGPAU party!~ From what i heard.. MCA is "TAO KEH" party!~
What datuk have done to chinese community was obvious!~ We got it and we appreciate it!~ I think if you still continue lead the party,MCA still are able to maintain most of the seat which were won on 308 GE in the comming GE.Some of the chinese community still vote MCA is just becoz appreciate what u have done to us.If you leave...,perhaps...many of the vote tht MCA got on 308 will leave. They vote MCA just becoz give u face~ Not becoz of the delegates~! And most importantly,NOT NOT!! becoz of Mother story telling during campaign~!~ NOT NOT becoz provide "makan","minum" or free ride to the voting place!~ WE!~ Chinese community are very clear on this matter~! Don't use the 60's 70's,80's or even 90's campaign tactics to gain our vote pls~~!

Dear Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat,
Be steadfast. I hope you will not fall into the trap of Datuk Seri CSL and the misguided central delegates. Article 35 of the constitution is very clear. We have to respect and abide by the party constitution in the course of running the party matters to avoid chaos. The 1st resolution is merely an evaluation instrument to gauge your performance and should never be used to topple your presidency. Majority of the members and Chinese communities are on your side.
"Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else." Brian Tracy
Therefore Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat don't give up. Those misguided cds and cc will come to their senses sooner or later.

Dato Seri Ong Tee Keat,

As a leader of MCA you are represent the leader of chinese community and not just the 2,000 odd mca delegates. So with the result of EGM that came as a surprise because of the third force behind it, i would strongly urge you to stay and fight. If your fellow VPs think they can be opportunist to take over your position prove to them you are leader of chinese communities and not the central committee.

You are courageous leader where its so lacking in today Malaysia politic scene with every politician just another opportunist who fight for their own pocket and personal gain.

Stay on and make a transformation plan so that MCA can be in the good hands of a new successor , definitely not the current central commitee.

God Bless

This is the 1st Time that I feel compel to give my comment in a political blog (or any type of blog in the www).

This is despite I have been reading a lot of political blogs by politicians for so many years (if not mistaken, since the era of Dato' Seri Anwar scandal - 199smilies/cool.gif.

I am 43 years old now. I forgot at what age I started to read newspaper but I remember my interest in political news started when I was in form 3 (15 years old) in 1981.

Ever since then, every time I read about MCA Presidents' news (started with Tan Sri Lee San Choon) i.e about their public statements, speeches, press release and their 'work', I will start to curse (also start to spit when I was younger, aggressive and rebellious).

I was very disgusted by their hypocrisy, selfishness, insincerity, irresponsibility, corruption and yes man to UMNO. So disgusted until there's a period when I have to avoid MCA Presidents' news in order not to spoil my day.

This kind of disrespect for MCA Presidents in me has been going on for almost 30 years until the last 2 months or so.

Suddenly I started to have a strange feeling on our present MCA President Dato' Seri Ong Tee Keat.

I felt that he is different compare with all the past MCA Presidents.

I feel that he is clean and have the desire to be a Leader to serve the people truthfully. He dares to fight for what is Right, something which a corrupted leader would not be able or dare to do.

Finally, I start to see MCA President differently and have high regards for him. After so many years of putting up with one Joker after another, we are finally blessed with a True MCA President

And I always knew that our country is a Lucky Country. This is a Blessed Land. I believe it could be that our country's positioning has got 'good feng shui'. AND I ALWAYS FEEL VERY LUCKY TO BE BORN IN THIS COUNTRY. I DREAD TO THINK WHAT MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE IF I WERE TO BE BORN IN CHINA. WORST STILL IF IT IS OTHER ASEAN COUNTRIES OTHER THAN SINGAPORE.

I am saying the above after having travelled "all over the world" (actually only 50% but considering 30% of the world are not safe to go, remaining are not interesting places to go. So, I consider myself qualified to give this opinion as somebody who had travelled "all over the world").

Blessed and Good Feng Shui because politically and economically stable, vast natural resources and free from natural disasters (excluding man made like landslide due to development on hill slopes).
No civil war and no racial riots eventhough we are a multi ethnic country (minus May 13th, 1969 which I consider a growing up process of a young country with multi ethnic population).
More than 90% of the citizens are living above poverty line.

We are able to enjoy this conducive decent living environment despite the fact that we have been governed all this while by all the Jokers who either being extensively accused of corruption or imcompentencies in their job unlike Singapore which is governed by a Clean Government (Ranked No.2 Worldwide after New Zealand).

Singapore has conducive living and business environment because it is governed by an Efficient, Capable and Clean Government.

As for Malaysia, I attribute it to Good 'Feng Shui' and Blessed.

Now the Good 'Feng Shui' has churned out a Capable, Brave and Clean Leader like Dato' Seri Ong Tee Keat.

We are Blessed even more.

BUT, ALAS! IT ONLY LAST FOR 2 MONTHS! WHAT A JOKE!

SO, DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT, PLEASE DON'T RESIGN. PLEASE FINISH UP YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU GO. I MEAN WHATEVER WORK YOU HAVE SET OUT TO DO.
...
written by John Wong, October 14, 2009
We have a lot of leaders in the past who always claim that they need to finish up their work before they leave eventhough I always scratch my head what kind of work they need to finish. We even have this Joker who has earned the title of longest serving party President and longest serving cabinet minister who is still reluctant to relinquish his post even with the calls and cries from the people from all walks of life including his own race and yet he is claiming that he has unfinished work! He hasn't trained a capable team to take over! Is he kidding us? After 30 years, he has unfinished work! haven't trained a capable team! Doesn't he realised that it's Plain Simple, THAT HE HAS FAILED! SO, JUST GO! GRACEFULLY WHILE STILL POSSIBLE.

AS FOR YOU, DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT, YOU DO REALLY HAVE UNFINISHED WORK. YOU DON'T MENTION IT, I FEEL IT AND I KNOW IT. THIS IS REALLY THE 1ST TIME THAT WE HAVE A LEADER WHO SHOULD NOT GO YET BECAUSE HE HAS UNFINISHED WORK.

PLEASE DON'T RESIGN, DATO' SERI. YOU DON'T HAVE TO AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE REASONS TO RESIGN (EXCEPT FOR YOUR OWN STUPID PROMISE THAT YOU WILL RESIGN EVEN IF YOU LOSE BY ONE VOTE. FOR THIS YOU SHOULD RESIGN TO UPHOLD YOUR INTEGRITY BUT I CAN FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT. I TAKE IT AS A POLITICIANS' CAMPAIGNING STRATEGY, BE IT PSYCHOLOGICALLY OR SOMETHING ELSE). FRANKLY SPEAKING, AS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE YOU SHOULD RESIGN FOR THAT. BUT TO SACRIFICE A GOOD LEADER FOR JUST A SIMPLE MISTAKE IS ALSO FOOLISH. DON'T WORRY DATO', MALAYSIANS ARE VERY FORGIVING. HOPE YOU LEARNED YOUR LESSON. WE DON'T NEED YOU TO GIVE SUCH COMMITMENT IN FUTURE.

IF YOU RESIGN, IT WOULD REALLY BE A JOKE ON ME! HAVE YOU UNDERSTOOD WHY I AM COMPEL TO WRITE THIS LONG WINDED COMMENT? I REALLY WANT TO SEE OR RATHER DESPERATELY WANT TO SEE MCA FINALLY PLAYING HIS ROLE AS WHAT ORIGINALLY IT HAS SET OUT TO WHEN IT JOINED THE ALLIANCE TO FIGHT FOR THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE FEDERATION OF MALAYA.

MCA PARTY'S MISSION AND VISION IS FOR A UNITED AND PROSPEROUS MALAYSIA FOR ALL.

I REALLY WISH TO SEE IF YOU ARE THE SOUL THAT GOD SENT TO US TO RELIVE AND TO ACHIEVE THE MCA'S MISSION AND VISION.

IN MY LIFE, I HAVE HIGH RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR A FEW LEADERS OF OUR COUNTRY, BEAUTIFUL MALAYSIA. FROM OUR EARLY LEADERS, THEY ARE DATO' ONN BIN JAAFAR (FOR BEING A GENTLEMAN LEADER AND NON CONFRONTATION POLITICIAN, I KNOW HIM AND HIS WORK FROM HISTORY BOOK)AND TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN (A TRUE LEADER FOR MULTI ETHNIC MALAYSIA THAT TRULY CARES FOR THE RAKYAT IRRESPECTIVE OF RACE) FOR FIGHTING AND GAINING INDEPENDENCE FOR THE FEDERATION OF MALAYA. LIKE ALL MALAYSIANS, I VALUE OUR COUNTRY'S INDEPENDENCE FROM THE BRITISH COLONIZATION.

FOR RECENT LEADER, I HAVE HIGH RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR OUR TUN DR. MAHATHIR MOHAMAD WHO TRULY MODERNISE MALAYSIA WITH HIS SHARP AND FORWARD THINKING. ALSO FOR BEING A LEADER FOR ALL THE RAKYAT OF ALL RACES. DESPITE BEING LABELLED AS AN ULTRA MALAY BEFORE BECOMING PRIME MINISTER, HE DID NOT SUPPRESS THE FREEDOM AND RIGHTS OF A LIVELIHOOD OF THE NON MALAYS. I TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND MY HEARTIEST GRATITUE TO TUN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TUN DR. MAHATHIR MOHAMAD.

AS YOU CAN SEE, DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT. THEY ARE ALL MALAYS. I HOPE I CAN ADD YOU INTO MY LIST OF HIGHLY RESPECTED AND ADMIRED LEADERS OF MALAYSIA, THE 1ST NON MALAY. WE NEED YOU TO GUIDE AND LEAD US TO A BETTER FUTURE AND A BETTER MALAYSIA. FOR OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.

written by John Wong, October 14, 2009

AND I APPEAL TO OUR HONOURABLE PRIME MINISTER DATUK SERI NAJIB TUN RAZAK TO SUPPORT DATO' ONG TEE KEAT TO CONTINUE TO HELM THE LEADERSHIP OF MCA. DATUK SERI NAJIB, YOU NEED HIM AS MUCH AS WE NEED HIM. HE WILL HELP YOU TO WIN BACK THE CHINESE SUPPORT IN THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION.

WITHOUT DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT, MCA WILL SLOWLY BECOME IRRELEVANT TO THE CHINESE COMMUNITY AS WHAT IS ALREADY HAPPENING NOW. IT WILL EVOLVE TO BECOME A JOKERS' CLUB OR PARTY TO THE CHINESE COMMUNITY.

DATUK SERI NAJIB, I SAID YOU NEED HIM AS MUCH AS WE DO DUE TO ALL THE ACCUSATIONS BEING HURLED AT YOU IN ALL THE OPPOSITION POLITICAL BLOGS AS WELL AS IN THE SPEECHES OF OUR DATO' SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM. ALSO RPK STATUTORY DECLARATION WHICH IS IN THE PRESENT NEWS LINEUP. I AM NOT SURE WHETHER THE ACCUSATIONS ARE TRUE OR OTHERWISE BUT THEY SEEM TO BE REALLY ENJOYING THEMSELVES HURLING THOSE ACCUSATIONS WHENEVER THE OPPORTUNITY AROSE FOR THEM. LET ME MAKE MYSELF CLEAR, I DON'T CARE ABOUT ALL THOSE ACCUSATIONS AND I AM NOT A POLITICIAN. I AM ALSO NOT A MEMBER OF ANY POLITICAL PARTY. ALL THAT I KNOW IS THAT I SHOULD SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT AND THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE DAY BECAUSE HE HAS MANAGED TO GARNER THE MAJORITY SUPPORT FROM THE RAKYAT. I JUST WANT A PEACEFUL COUNTRY TO LIVE IN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.

I AM SAYING I SUPPORT YOU, DATUK SERI NAJIB.

YOU REALLY NEED A TEAM MEMBER LIKE DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT TO PROVE YOUR CRITICS WRONG. TO ALSO PROVE YOU ARE A PRIME MINISTER WHO WALK THE TALK. THAT YOU ARE BUILDING A CLEAN AND CAPABLE TEAM OF LEADERS TO FIGHT GRAFT, TO FIGHT SOCIAL ILLS AND REDUCE CRIME RATE. TO OFFER A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR US TO LIVE IN AND A CONDUCIVE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT FOR COMPANIES AND INVESTORS. PLEASE NOTE THAT DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT IS CONTRIBUTING AND HELPING YOU TO CARRY OUT YOUR MISSION AS YOUR TEAM MEMBER. HE IS CLEAN, BRAVE AND CAPABLE. AT PRESENT HE IS TRYING TO UNCOVER ONE OF THE BIGGEST CORRUPTION IN OUR COUNTRY.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, ANOTHER REASON YOU SHOULD SUPPORT HIM IS BECAUSE HE IS NOT CONTROVERSIAL AND DO NOT CONTRADICT YOU.

DATUK SERI NAJIB, YOU ARE A VISIONARY LEADER AND YOU HAVE IMPLEMENTED A LOT OF POLICIES (ECONOMIC POLICIES AND OTHERS) THAT HAVE SHOWN OR ARE GOING TO SHOW RESULTS THAT BENEFITED THE RAKYAT. AND I EXTEND MY COMPLIMENTS TO YOU.

AND YOUR 1MALAYSIA CONCEPT IS TRULY WONDERFUL AND BRILLIANT! AND I JUST LOVE IT VERY MUCH. BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO CHOOSE TO DOUBT IT AS A 'CLEVERLY CRAFTED PHRASE'.

I KNOW IT IS NOT EASY TO ACHIEVE YOUR VISION OF 1MALAYSIA. IT WILL NEED TIME TO REALISE THIS DREAM. WE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FROM ALL THE WORKS THAT YOU CARRY OUT DAILY AS WELL AS ALL THE PLANS THAT YOU IMPLEMENT PRESENTLY.

DATUK SERI NAJIB, I WILL BE PATIENT WITH YOU.

AS FOR ME, AS A NON-POLITICIAN BUT A BUSINESSMAN, I WILL ALSO CONTRIBUTE MY PART AS MUCH AS I CAN TO THIS 1MALAYSIA CONCEPT WHICH I LOVE.

IN MY BUSINESS, I AM PASSIONATELY TRYING TO HELP AS MANY MALAYS AS POSSIBLE TO INVOLVE AND SUCCEED IN BUSINESS.
AND THAT IS TO ACHIEVE IT WITHOUT THE GOVERNMENT'S HELP.

AND I DON'T HAVE PROBLEM TO DO THIS AT ALL BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN STUDYING IN MALAY SCHOOLS SINCE I WAS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL AND MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS HAVE BEEN MORE OF MALAYS.

AND LASTLY, I WANT TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY OUT MY FEELINGS. AND THIS IS ESPECIALLY FOR MY FELLOW CHINESE TO HEAR.

EVENTHOUGH I AM A CHINESE (100% CHINESE) BUT I LOVE THE MALAYS MORE.

THE MALAYS IS A MORE FRIENDLY AND HOSPITABLE RACE. I CAN VOUCH THIS IS 100% TRUE IF IT IS NOT FOR (ONCE IN A WHILE) A FEW RADICAL OR EXTREMIST WHO PROVOKE AND FAN UP THEIR SENTIMENT AND EMOTION.

UNLIKE THE CHINESE WHO IS MORE HOSTILE.

SO, I HOPE MORE OF MY FELLOW CHINESE WILL ALSO CONTRIBUTE WHENEVER POSSIBLE TO REALISE OUR PRIME MINISTER'S VISION OF 1MALAYSIA CONCEPT.

ONE MALAYSIA, ONE RACE, ONE FRIENDLY AND HOSPITABLE RACE.

AND DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT, I AM NOT FORGETTING YOUR 1MCA ALSO.

WITHOUT YOU THERE WILL BE 0MCA (ZERO MCA).

SO, PLEASE DON'T RESIGN.

AND IF YOU STILL CHOOSE TO RESIGN. I WILL RESPECT YOUR DECISION AND WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

AND HOPEFULLY OUR DATO' SERI LIOW TIONG LAI WILL CONTINUE TO CARRY OUT YOUR GOOD POLICIES.

IN THE MEANTIME, I HOPE OUR DATO' SERI LIOW TIONG LAI WILL NOT BE IMPATIENT TO TAKE OVER THE LEADERSHIP EVENTHOUGH THERE ARE RUMOURS ABOUT THAT.

I AM NOT DOUBTING YOU OR YOUR CAPABILITY/CREDIBILITY BUT OUR DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT HAS GOT UNFINISHED WORK.

I BELIEVE WE WILL ALL BENEFIT FROM HIS LEADERSHIP OR LEARN FROM HIS LEADERSHIP BY ALLOWING HIM TO CONTINUE SERVING US AS MCA PRESIDENT.

I END MY COMMENT WITH (AGAIN)

PLEASE DON'T RESIGN DATO' SERI ONG TEE KEAT

THANK YOU

SINCERELY

Stay on if you have the courage
written by Chae Sing, October 14, 2009
Dear Datuk Seri,

You should stay on and complete the works you started despite the current set back.

All is not lost yet. You should not walk away from problems if you have the courage to change the party.
The moment you resign, you are leaving MCA to an even bigger hole...none of those in the CC can hold the party together as well as able to stand up to the powerful UMNO and corrupt elements within MCA. The moment you walk away, it would be the return of the old teams that have corrupted MCA to its core.

There is still a way for you to stay and lead. Stay and lead the reform, and hand over only when the next generation is ready. I watched Datuk Liow and Kong over the last two days - they just dont have it in them to be No 1 or 2, yet.

Perhaps the most viable option for MCA to get out of this confusing chaotic situation is hold fresh elections for the whole of its central leadership. You can disolve the CC and call for fresh election, and be the interim president to organize the election. I believe in a fresh electon, your chances to win a new mandate is still the highest. You still have the majority support and the advantage by living up to your motto - have the courage and dare to lead and change the party.

Amongst the MCA leaders, you are the only one who enjoy more than 60% support or popularity amongst the Chinese accordng to a survey conducted. Only you can hold the party and lead the party to the next General Election. If you step down and run away, Chua and his gangs will continue to haunt whoever that taking over from you..and worst, these new kids on the block would not be able to hold back Chua and the gangs...

A fresh election will allow Ong to regain his mandate from the party delegates to continue as the legitimate leader of the MCA. And I think in a fresh electon, Chua and any others don't stand a chance in winning the presidency if you are running. Frankly, you still have a very good image and reputation amongst the Chinese community and I believe amongst the grassroot members of MCA.

There is currently no other viable person, other than You, that could provide the bold and brave leadership for the MCA to stand up firmly against the external intimidating interference of the party affairs, and also to ensure its legitimate bargaining rights in the Barisan Nasional coalition government.

Disolve the CC and please run in a new party election. You will win again and have the mandate to lead MCA out of this mess. But if you resign, it would be the end of the good guys in MCA and end of MCA. The MCA central committee, by resigning en masse, will allow the party another chance to survive the titanic crisis and regenerate into a position of strength and regain its relevance and respect in the Chinese community.

Please act with courage in this moments of difficulties. Warriors just don't run away. We believe you can come back stronger and there are many Chinese out there who are on your side duirng this entire debacle.

It is very unfortunate that while the majority of the Malaysians of Chinese descent are in support of your leadership (as some credible independent polls have shown), MCA's own central delegates - not more than 51% with a mere 14-vote majority - cast their votes of "no-confidence" in your leadership. They may be of the same feather as CSL or were voting to create opportunities for themselves. Whatever their motive, their votes put you in a extremely sticky dilemma: What best to do next?

Your decision to be announced today, many people like me hope, would be a holistic one - in that, it will take care of all legitimate factors, namely:

* the aspiration of the majority of the Chinese Malaysians - not to respect their wishes would be absconding your leadership responsibility; resign you must, but you didn't say immediately. As a responsible leader, resign within the shortest possible time when the party is ready to hold fresh elections;

* your own words that you would resign if you lost by even a simple majority - to renege on your words would dent your credibility;

* that you lost the "no-confidence" resolution by only a minute margin - less than 1% of the total votes cast: s slim 14 votes majority with about 80 absentees. The majority is too minute for you to concede defeat;

* that the 2nd resolution that was carried that overturned the decision of both the Presidential Council & the Central Committee must mean that the PC & CC too must resign with you; and, fresh elctions must be held the soonest possible;

* that the MCA constitution requires 2/3 majority for its President to be removed - Datuk TB can argue that by MCA constitution CSL is still the Deputy President notwithstanding the Resolution not to reinstate him as the Deputy President, then Datuk TB and his ilks must accept that by the same MCA constitution, you are still entitled to be the President of MCA.

Taking into account all the above factors, it would appear to me that the best decision you can take to overcome the present dilemma would be:

To announce that you would keep your words to resign but not until everything is in place for a fresh party election within the shortest time possible whereupon you would re-offer yourself to run for the post of MCA Presidency because:
* of the very slim majority the "no-confidence" resolution was carried;
* there were about 80 absentees, 8 spoilt votes against only the 14-vote majority of "no-confidence";
* the decision s of the PC & CC have been overturned by the central delegates in resolution 2;
* most important of all, the majority of the Chinese Malaysians have expressed their wish for you to continue to lead the MCA;

I hope that you would make the above decision so that the majority of the Malaysian Chinese would want to know whether the MCA central delegates will once again dare to defy the wishes of the majority of the Chinese community in this country. If so, it would mean that MCA has chosen not to be a political party for the Chinese community in Malaysia. I will only keep my inactive MCA membership until then.

May goodness be with you always.

A Proposed Solution to the Current Impasse
written by TAN GEE TICK, October 15, 2009
Dear Datuk Seri,

I hope you would go for this decision:

•that you would resign – to honour your words that you would should you lose even by simple majority;
•that you would do so as soon as the party machinery is ready to hold a fresh election;
•that the fresh election is necessary because Resolution 2 which was carried has also overturned/annulled the decisions of the Presidential Council and the Central Committee on CSL;
•that you will re-offer yourself as a candidate for MCA Presidency in the upcoming fresh election because of:
othe slim and inconclusive majority of the “no-confidence” votes against your current presidency; and,
othe spontaneous outpouring of support from the silent majority (as shown by credible independent polls)

I believe the above decision would be the best solution for the current impasse; that the recent outcome of the MCA EGM was an aberration; that the MCA central delegates will not dare to defy the wishes of the silent majority if they do not want to render their beloved party irrelevant to the Chinese community and the righteous masses; and, that your leadership of MCA together with Datuk Seri Najib's thus far very endearing leadership of UMNO and MCA would further endear BN to the masses and the majority of Malaysians.

With that, I wish MCA & BN every success.
