Some of my supporters had asked why I was willing to allow the five resolutions by the requisitionists to be tabled before the EGM as some of the resolutions were questionable.
I am consistent in my commitment to transparency, my desire for the MCA to be more open and my drive for the MCA to listen more to the people so that we can connect better with the people and be more effective in serving their needs. It is in this spirit that I accept the five resolutions for tabling.
I accept the EGM requisitionists’ resolutions in totality, fearlessly and magnanimously knowing I may lose all. I am not important. The MCA is and I do not want to prolong the difficult situation the party is in. I want a quick solution to unite the party so that we can focus on strengthening the party to serve the people. Even if that means putting my head on the chopping block.
Now, the choice before the delegates is not between Ong Tee Keat and Chua Soi Lek, as was portrayed by certain quarters; rather it is whether they want to allow individual’s interests to take precedence over the party’s and the nation’s.
I have confidence that our central delegates are not easily swayed by lies, half-truths, intimidation or monetary offers. They possess the wisdom to determine the destiny of the MCA. Ultimately, they will know the consequences of not doing the right thing. They will realise that the impact will go beyond the MCA to strike the heart of the family institution.
The decision to accept the requisitionists’ resolutions should by itself serve as a retort to my detractors’ spin that “it is my lack of confidence in my leadership that caused the rift”.

YOU have leave a bunch of no value self interest without brain followers of MCA to decide the future of MCA, YOU may have to wait for another 50 years.
