On August 26, 2009, Tiong King Sing lodged a police report against me for cheating and alleged that he had given me RM10 million to finance MCA's activities. He also alleged that the money did not end up with the Party as intended.
I categorically deny Tiong's baseless allegations and reiterate that I did not receive the money from him. His police report was malicious and clearly intended to smear me in my personal capacity, as Minister of Transport and MCA president. In fact, I have already filed a RM500 million defamation suit against him.
To further clear my name and defend my integrity, today I have lodged a police report against Tiong for lodging a false police report against me. I will give the authorities my fullest co-operation. Last week I was called up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in their investigations over the police report lodged by Tiong. I also reiterate my commitment towards transparency and accountability and will not waver in my pledge to get to the bottom of the Port Klang Free Zone issue.
