DAP, not MCA, should boycott KT by-election E-mail

DAP leader Lim Kit Siang has called on the MCA not to campaign in the Kuala Terengganu by-election over my media conference regarding the Port Klang Free Zone on Sunday.

I think this is YB Lim's latest attempt to distract the public from one of the worst crisis facing the Pakatan Rakyat following a recent controversial statement by PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa. Husam has only confirmed what the Malaysian public has known about PAS's intention all along - to set up an Islamic State and introduce Hudud laws if it comes to power at the national level.

If DAP feels so strongly about Husam's remarks, the DAP should as a matter of principle, not campaign for PAS' candidate in the Kuala Terengganu poll. Choosing to do so would only mean that the DAP supports public whipping, amputation and stoning for criminal offences under the Hudud laws. Mere words objecting to Husam's statement would not suffice if not demonstrated by action.

We can now clearly see signs of discord in the eight-month-old Pakatan Rakyat, which was formed as a marriage of convenience, whose member parties have starkly different, if not opposing, ideologies.

When YB Lim asked the MCA to boycott the Kuala Terengganu by-election campaigning, it merely shows that the DAP is terrified that the MCA will be able to win over the almost 9,000 Chinese voters in the constituency. The Chinese, who make up around 11 per cent of the voters there, are said to be the key to BN's victory. I give my assurance that the MCA will not only work hard to win over the Chinese voters there but will work with its coalition partners to woo voters of all races there.

That the DAP stalwart has issued two media statements on PKFZ in as many days, regurgitating on the same old issues show that the party has run out of issues for the by-election.

While YB Lim is free to comment, I would like him to be objective as whatever negative perception he is portraying to the public will affect the confidence of the existing and potential investors.

Instead, he should be reminded that Selangor MB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had acknowledged that the PKFZ is a viable project.

As to YB Lim's queries on PKFZ, I have answered them as early as last May in Parliament. Back then, I had said that the Government could not acquire the land earmarked for the project because PKFZ is not a public interest project. Besides, a development order has been issued on the plot.

On the letters issued by my predecessors in the Ministry of Transport, I want to repeat that they were not guarantee letters, but merely confirming that there was an agreement entered into between Port Klang Authority and Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers is finalising its audit on the corporate governance of PKFZ, among others. I have said that there will be no interference on my part or the Government and I stand by my words. It is unnecessary to jump the gun before the PWC report is released.

I have said this many times before but somehow it did not register with YB Lim who keeps harping on the same issues. I can only conclude that he is full of platitudes.

Dato' Seri, you have a point concerning hudud involving PKR particularly PAS. It was only last week that Dato' Husam said that PAS is committed to hudud only to make a U-turn the next day. I think both PAS and UMNO is using hudud as political ploy. Both are not serious and never will be. The worst is PAS because this party keeps changing the goal post and using islam to justify both wrongs and rights.

The only way MCA can return and save the chinese and malaysians is to start right. That means a leader with integrity. Unfortunately, you don't have a deputy that back you. Just ignore him and move ahead with what you think is right.
If you do good, it will be very visible and soon...you'll gain even more support.

I suggest you really learn about Hudud before you open your big mouth! MCA has been prostituted by UMNO for a very long time. Time to wake up, YB.

Look at your party leader as well. Disgraceful old Chua still your VP. I suppose you people are afraid of Hudud because of your skeleton in your closet. Ordinary innocent man has no fear for Hudud. Why should we worry about Hudud if we do no crime?
BN the sinking ship

For a long time, I used to support Umno. Now I 'sedar' already, now I support Pakatan Rakyat. MCA should 'sedar' and leave BN. Leaving BN is the best thing MIC & MCA can do... for the country. Dont stay with a sinking ship called BN (unless you want to sink with it)
hukuman sula in hudud
written by pineapple pie, December 26, 2008
i wonder why people are so against hudud. and based on your statement on the news on every channel yesterday, i know why. you have a misconception on the law, i don't blame you. it's irrelevant to you (you still can steal and if you get caught, you still can keep your hands intact.) therefore you have no reason to learn about it and understanding it. but YB, if you were to make a statement on the matter (or on any other matters), i assume you would've take time to learn at least the basic things. why? because you will end up looking stupid. The leaders of the country are a reflection of the rakyat. If the leaders make stupid remarks, the rakyat will be deemed unintelligent.

There's no "sula" in hudud, YB. I think you watch waaaayy too many Mahsuri movies. Get your fact straight before commenting. As you are a reflection of the rakyat, your wrong statement insulted our intelligence. But then again, i think all of us know that we, the rakyat are generally better and smarter despite the leaders political manipulation.

no more mahsuri movies for you, YB.

KT Election and CSL

26 December 2008

To Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and All Malaysians,

After 308 and 2008 dawn, the only Change is a Change in Leadership in MCA and a shift in absolute power from BN to greater check and balance by Pakatan Rakyat. While BN strived to continue in office by constantly reminding the Rakyats to exercise “TOLERANCE” for greater peace, harmony and stability BUT in reality all political parties continue to champion on narrow ground of race/religion/language/party line; etc. All these are done for BN and Pakatan Rakyat SELF INTERESTS without focus on the real issues faced by Malaysians for the proper prescription of medicines to cure all ills faced by Malaysia.

While the politicians broker for power and money to raise issues and concerns drummed for the gallery, no real work is done for the Rakyats basic needs of love and care, food and shelter. The only Courage to Change is once The Rakyats are not with ME (BN/Pakatan Rakyats) The Rakyats will suffer for not putting ME in power and money. That is why All Malaysians must exercise “TOLERANCE” and restraint for self decay and self destruction under ME rule WITHOUT COURAGE for CHANGE by being focus on the real issues without fear and favor.

The call for DAP and MCA to boycott KT is obvious cowardice of both divide without interests of The Rakyats at heart. Both DAP and MCA should not use the Chinese race as the decoy for KING maker. When 2 elephants fight the ants got killed.

Why can’t MCA and DAP just accept the Malaysians Chinese maturity and intelligence to just allow Bangsa Malaysia to make their decision in KT? Why continue to harp on race/religion etc. line when The Courage for Change should be issues centered for the good of 1 Bangsa Malaysia.. I would humbly, suggest to BN and Pakatan Rakyats that as your action and non action are not issues focused but for SELF only, just leave The Rakyats alone for their wise decision. Win as you may BUT not at the expense of The Rakyats.

All Malaysians, the passing of the bills on judiciary and corruption by both BN and Pakatan Rakyats is a step in the right direction in the common objective of a transparent and respected judiciary system and corruption is bad for man kinds. Just imagine if the 2 issues are mooted and carried by Pakatan Rakyats it will not see daylight in parliament and ALL COWARDICE MPs will toe party line. Even issues dear to The Rakyats can be brushed aside because ME is not in public focus or in bad light. No wonder Dr M coined our MPs as brainless!

If PAS had been narrow and small to champion Hudud and Qizad, by demonstrating (Is a permit issued!) in front of PAS Headquarter only stir anger and burn the fire of hatred against Chinese.
As The Constitution spelt out clearly the rights of all Malaysians why play to the partisan and not just focus on the real issues of rights to choice of religion and a law for a specific group can not be the universal law of all Malaysians until and unless 1 Bangsa Malaysia supported it. If MCA is courageous and not BRAINLESS and COWARDICE then MCA should take the PAS dare by the horn that PAS is unconstitutional and that HUDUD and QIZAD if implemented is indirect conversion of 1 Bangsa Malaysia religion because all right minded citizens would want to learn about the religion and the laws since 1 is subject to its legislation.

Why the call for CSL to step aside to LOOT his democratic constitutional rights in MCA as the elected Deputy President by taking the step of Mr Loot! By being constitutionally elected it speaks volume of the Integrity of the Delegates and its members in MCA. Datuk Seri OTK and CC of MCA must address CSL issue constitutionally by amending the rules of laws in MCA to remove CSL or accept CSL as part of The Team or be COURAGEOUS for a by-election for CSL in place of CSL’s Junior! Who knows1Bangsa Malaysia may have forgiven and accepted him just like his loving family?

By being issues focused, MCA must mend its cracking house before MCA can work as 1 Team to be Courageous to Change by Creating New Values for 1 United Bangsa Malaysia.

Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, just to remind you that Malaysians Condominium (MC) is still looking for your good office and in particular The Housing Ministry to address the 11 years old issues faced on property maintenance. As MC is in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and only 1 MP who is also The Minister of WP is from BN is MCA feared of the 9 Pakatan Rakyats MPs by being Mutual Tolerance!

MC dare Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to take on the challenge to serve The Rakyats as you stand 90% chance to hit a Pakatan Rakyat area and MC could be the catalyst to live up to your Tag Line of Courage to Change by Creating New Values for 1 United Bangsa Malaysia.

Thank you.

Together for 1 Nation, 1 Malaysia and 1 United Bangsa Malaysia.
MCA, DAP, PAS and Hudud Laws

A cursory look and understanding of the political developments from the 60s and later in the 70s onwards shows very clearly that religion (Islam) had crept into the political sphere unabated. During this period, UMNO and Barisan has been ruling this country. The dire straits we are in the the predicament we face in such issues as polarisation happened, too, during this regime's reign. Then came Tun Mahathir's declaration of an Islamic state. In all these, the Non-Malay component parties of Barisan let the march of UMNO in its pursuits unimpeded when we expected them to stand and protect our interests. If you are not sure, our interests and rights have been diluted greatly thanks to the "accomodative" politics of MCA, MIC, etc. The only way to show our displeasure at the way the Non-Malay parties "abandoned" our interests is to abandon these parties during the last elections. Let us be honest here. Parties like MCA, MIC are in the dock, not DAP because Barisan Nasional, even now, is the ruling party and is answerable to the rakyat. We know when and how to take DAP to task and DAP knows that. This is a multi-racial country and there needs to be accomodative politics but what the Non-Malay Barisan component parties have done is to make themselves irrelevant by being submissive and not accomodative. This is the general impression and the way matters are now, we don't any significant change from March 08 and now. As much as there was a political tsunami on March 08, there has to be another TSUNAMI from MCA, MIC, etc, before they can ever stand a chance of winning back the confidence and votes of the Non-Malays. This is my frank opinion and I hope with you at the helm of MCA, you would do justice to multi-racial politics in Malaysia and be firm in your approach rather than your predecessor who, the rakyat believed, was sweeping everything under the carpet. We were surprised actually that you did not notice what the rakyat did. The day of reckoning started when a memorandum given to the PM was forced to be retracted. The fact that non of the component parties have stood up firmly against UMNO on the ISA would feature prominently on the cards of any election and bye-election, not per se as what to do with the ISA but the perception that these component parties are still subservient to UMNO and that they do not have the clout to make a difference.
