<title>Democracy - the right to contest as well as not to contest</title>
			<link>http://www.ongteekeat.net/gogo_en/content/view/268/53/</link>
<description>The proposal for BN not to contest in the impending Penanti by-election may turn out to be a major step forward to cool the country's hot political climate. We are too politicised to a point that we forget the meaning of democracy. It is not a show of strength or a tool to satisfy one's private agenda.

<description>If we truly uphold the spirit of democracy, we should respect differing views, even if we cannot concur with . The Deputy Prime Minister can voice his views on the results of the Bukit Gantang by-election, and so can I.

			<title>Lessons from the by-election results</title>
			<link>http://www.ongteekeat.net/gogo_en/content/view/264/53/</link>
<description>We accept the decisions of the people in Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang. However, it is not a total loss as BN won Batang Ai and this motivates us to work harder in preparation of the Sarawak election. It is quite clear from tonight's results that the people want much more from us. They do not want to hear promises of change but they want to experience real change.

			<title>Getting Our History Right</title>
			<link>http://www.ongteekeat.net/gogo_en/content/view/263/53/</link>
<description>To me, historical facts will remain as facts. It cannot be changed, distorted or denied. We acknowledge the fact that in our struggle for Independence, certain communities were fighting for a free country earlier than the others. But the country gained Independence because of the contributions of all races.

<description>We are here at this grand rally to celebrate 60 years of the founding of the Malaysian Chinese Association together with party members and fellow Malaysians from across the country. There is indeed a cause for celebration for the party has for six decades since its birth witnessed and experienced many challenges. We emerge battle-scarred but triumphant. We remember the struggles of our founding members to resettle and provide hope for half a million Malayan Chinese.
