Now the deputy PM has commented that “It is only proper that leaders at all levels know what the plan entails. I too want to know as a member of Barisan Nasional. Maybe we can help. It would be good if the plan was made transparent to their members and not that only some leaders know about it. Have a joint statement with CSL on the plan. [b]Resolution 1: That the members of the general assembly have no confidence in the leadership of president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat. Adopt 1155 Reject 1141[/b] This resolution has nothing to do with Chua Soi Lek. It cannot be construed that those adopting this resolution are supporters of Chua Soi Lek. Therefore, making a pact with Chua Soi Lek should not be interpreted as having the majority support of the MCA grassroots. What it means is that majority of the delegates no longer have confidence in your leadership. Despite the constitution stating that only a two thirds majority can unseat you, that is a mere formality. Your word should be your bond. You have pledged to resign even if the loss is that of a simple majority. You should honour that word. Anything less, will only depict you as untrustworthy. The delegates will now realise that they cannot truly believe anything that you say, as you attempt to cling on to power. I am sure that a repeat EGM will only lead to a more embarassing defeat for you. It appears that it is a matter of the pot calling the kettle black. Your selfish ambitions of remaining as MCA president, cloaked as an attempt to unite the party, is shameful.
