Some people are of the opinion that the existing law of 5 years penalty now for assemblyman is good enough to stop the unreasonable resignation by them.

BUT what if the assemblyman is no longer interested to be assemblyman in the next 5 years? i.e. he just resign to be businessman, or to further studies. Then he come back to contest 5 years later?
Isn’t that unfair to Malaysians?

I think that there must a greater punishment for unreasonable resignation by assemblyman. I don’t agree with the proposal by the recent proposal by Tan Keng Liang to the Election Commission for the penalty of 50k/100k for adun/mp as the punishment is not strong enough. Maybe must double the amount for the proposal. Lim Kit Siang which recently in his blog called both Tan keng liang n dato's Mukhriz people of no brain. But i think the people with no brain is actually Lim Kit Siang. He said penalty is undemocratic but i cannot understand why he said that. Maybe because it shows how bad the wakil rakyat from Pakatan Rakyat....all wasting people time n energy.

Those politician like Fairus and Anwar is just wasting people’s money and time.

Dato Seri,
I am actually from Penang and a strong DAP supporter BUT i m very sick of PKR problem at Penanti. How can he just resign after 1 year in office? (just because he want to study and spent time with his family. Even his alleged corruption case is not even brought to court yet. And now MACC had clear him).
Very irresponsible.
So, what punishment has Fairus got? The 5 years ban is nothing is his situation.

Any views on this Dato Seri? I suggest MCA Penang should take this issue up seriously with PKR. - Richard T

In the Perak incident, we saw BN hi-jacked the regime without election.
They dont even wanted to dismiss the state council so that the RAKYAT can re-select the members.
So, because of BN dont want to waste time and money, they choose to "sacrifice" democracy.

So, this is the way for BN to change?
BN should not use the SPR as a tool to oppress the opposition - Rothschild

Grey Area.

Dear Dato,

While I personally feel that competing in the Penanti state if it were to be vacant would be a waste of taxpayers money and shows a neglect of everyone towards the economy, BN component parties will have to address this grey issue carefully as it will be a "doom if you do, and doom if you don't" kind of situation. While democracy is about freedom( and in this context is the freedom to compete or abstain from competing), we must also understand the other side of democracy that is (majority rules). Ensure that this decision has the support of all BN component parties or we wlll face with Intra and Inter political dilemmas of BN. Either way would be disastrous to us as rakyat. What more when both comes along together.

Therefore, Please any decision should be made collectively as to avoid any future consequence(s). Please voice your point of view and convince others to do so. This itself will safe a lot of political complexity.

Thanks - Jason Kung

Walk the talk.

Dear D. Ong,

We hope you, PM and many other BN leaders will walk the talk concerning giving a walkover for the Penanti by-election in order not to waste time, energy and money but instead focus on the common good of the nation and solving the many social-economical issues.

Also concerning the Perak's crisis, already too much politicking and there will be much, much more "wastage" of time, energy and money than Penanti by-election if BN persist to hold-on to a "questionable and unstable government".

However if you and other BN leaders are sincere not to waste further time, energy and money why not give back the "government" to PR as most Perakian felt that they are rightful ones. If you / BN don't accept this fact, let us have a referendum for the Perakians on this matter. If not, once for all, let the Perakians decide their government via a State re-election rather than letting the crisis to drag and persist that will be more trying, time and energy consuming and also more costly due to so much indirect financial costs and losses.

regards, - james su

YB Dato' Sri, certainly do agree with you for our elected representatives to focus on pressing issues on our economy. MCA/BN have a lot of do on reimaging to regain the confidence of the RAKYAT who used to support them. Immediate actions to rectify lost grounds must be implemented to convince the Rakyat that MCA/BN are here to serve them. MCA must speak out loud and clear and act for a fair and equitable One Malaysia as been conceptualised by our PM now. - MY3
